House of Fraser Sets up Shop in Forsyth's Belfast Centre
House of Fraser has chosen Forsyth Business Centres’ Forsyth House, in Belfast’s city centre for the base of its launch team ahead of the opening of its flagship department store at Victoria Square.
House of Fraser is to open a 200,000 sq ft store in March 2008, its first in Northern Ireland. It will be the anchor tenant of Multi Development’s £320m city centre retail scheme which is one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration projects.
Forsyth House, which occupies a prominent corner site close to the Law Courts at Cromac Square is also the existing base of the Victoria Square consultancy team.
Fitted out to a high specification and fully air-conditioned the 27,000 sq ft business centre can provide clients with a wide range of space options from 124 sq ft to over 8,000 sq ft.
Space is available on a fully serviced basis or on conventional terms in line with Forsyth’s strategy to adapt buildings to the requirements of the local market.
House of Fraser general manager Gary Slattery said: "Forsyth House provides a very convenient, cost-effective and flexible solution to our office needs. We are very excited about preparing for the opening of our new department store in March 2008. The fit-out of the department store is continuing apace as is the selection process for the 500 new jobs that will be created."
Other new tenants at Forsyth House include recruitment consultant Industria and architect Watts Group. They join existing tenants including aerospace engineers, GKN, property developer P Elliott, marketing specialist Tribal Group and the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Forsyth business centre manager Liz Wilson said: "Although we are actually holding the official launch of the business centre in October, Forsyth House has quickly established itself as flexible office solution for a wide range of occupiers."
A pioneer in the serviced office sector, Forsyth was established by Sheffield United chairman and property specialist Kevin McCabe in 1991. The company recently announced ambitious plans to float on AIM within five years and to expand to 40 business centres throughout the UK and Europe by 2009.
BTWShiells and DTZ McCombe Pierce Group are advising Forsyth in Belfast.
