York’s history has given the city many layers, just like a
Forsyth business centre

York is a city steeped in history, both triumphant and bloody.  It has seen kings rise and fall as well as being subject to countless sieges and attacks.  This is maybe one of the reasons why the old walls still stand today, as in the past they needed to be strong out of necessity.

York has been the seat of kings, playing a major role in the War of the Roses as well as the civil war too, with the battle of Marston Moor taking place nearby after a siege of the city.  The city was also one of the last places to stand up to the Norman invasion, where the rebellion was eventually crushed by William the Conqueror as part of his ‘harrying of the North’.

There is also a strong connection with Vikings, with several archaeological finds within the city; the name of the city itself derives from the old Viking word ‘Jórvík’ meaning ‘horse bay’, although the Romans that came before them used a Latin version of the old Celtic name and called the settlement ‘Eburacum’.

With a rich tapestry of history like that, tourism obviously plays a major part in modern day York, not least the Minster which was probably most famous during the 80’s, when the restoration from fire took centre stage on the ever popular ‘Blue Peter’ television program.

There is also the Jorvik museum itself, recreating the sights and sounds of Viking York, as well as a massive railway museum, the York dungeon, Clifford’s Tower and many other notable tourist attractions.  York is definitely a city worth visiting not just once but several times.

So what about Forsyth in York?  Well, as you would expect from such an interesting and varied city, there is not just one option for businesses to expand or start up in York, but two.  Below we will look at both those choices more closely.

Tower Court, Clifton Moor

The centre provides on site parking, CCTV, a reception area, Meeting Rooms as well fully furnished offices in a quiet location and includes many modern IT requirements such as Cat 5 flood cabling and broadband internet.  There is also a passenger lift for easy access to each floor.

Monks Cross

Just minutes from the city centre and approximately 35 minutes drive from Leeds, The Monks cross business centre in York is located within a popular business and retail park.

Forsyth House at the Alpha business park provides free on site parking, offers fully furnished office space with lifts, secretarial services as well as modern IT and Telecoms services.  You can also choose from a semi or part serviced option, video conferencing or take advantage of the meeting rooms.

As you would expect from a major city, York has many transport connections, including close proximity to major road networks such as the A1, M1 and M62 which can take you south to London, North to Newcastle or East to Manchester.  There is also an international airport less than an hours drive away in the shape of Leeds-Bradford airport and a fantastic rail network which can quickly take you in all directions.

York really is a superb location for any new business start up or expanding business alike, and would be an excellent choice for a rented office or serviced office space in the North of England.
